Stephanie is a lifesaver! My husband and I did a virtual lactation consultation with her before my delivery, around 34 weeks. All I can say is that Stephanie's expertise and guidance truly set me up for success when I delivered and breastfed for the first time. After our session, I knew the basic ways to hold my baby cross body - tummy to tummy - and in football hold, how to position my nipples for an optimal latch, how to keep my baby awake while she was feeding, how to unlatch properly, how to burp the baby and overall just have the confidence I needed to breastfeed as a first time mom.

Lots of friends warned me about cracked and bloody nipples and how they couldn't wear bras or clothes for weeks because they were in so much pain. Stephanie's guidance spared me from the bloody, cracked nipples!! Sure, I was sore from the newness of it all but I was able to wear bras and clothes from day 1 and this is because Stephanie was able to teach me all the right ways to position myself (my posture), my nipples/areoles, and my baby's latch. When baby wasn't latched right and it was painful, I knew how to safely fishhook my baby's mouth open to start over. Breastfeeding is a really daunting, scary thing to do for first time moms but Stephanie really takes a humble approach to address your concerns, she shares information with you slowly and also provides great demonstrations so you can really get the hang of it.

Another perk about choosing Stephanie as your lactation consultant is that she is available to you after hours if you're having trouble or if you have questions and need advice. She was always available via text and FaceTime, which was such a relief to know that I could have extra help when needed. I felt so comfortable with Stephanie the entire time and I will 100% recommend her to any of my friends who are going to have a baby. Stephanie's services are worth every penny! 5 stars!

After I delivered and started breastfeeding, the doctors, nurses and lactation consultants who were rounding would all compliment how comfortable and natural breastfeeding was for me and my baby. If multiple professionals are complimenting you, you know you did something right! And I know that my success with breastfeeding is because of Stephanie! Thank you Stephanie!!

I felt like I should add another 5-star review for another great experience with Stephanie. Two years ago, she helped us figure out breastfeeding with our first daughter. We recently had another beautiful girl, and Stephanie was the first one we called when we hit a breastfeeding bump.

This time around, we thought we had the hang of breastfeeding, and in a lot of ways, we were more comfortable. But our newest little angel had a shallow latch that was causing some real pain for my wife. We knew Stephanie would have the answers, and sure enough, she came through for us.

Stephanie reminded us of a few techniques we'd forgotten, and just like magic, our daughter's latch improved, and breastfeeding is far more comfortable.

This second visit also reminded me why Stephanie is so worth a visit, because she can save families literally thousands of dollars by helping mothers use the right techniques with their little ones. I remember with our first daughter, doctors recommending supplementing with formula, pumping when it was unnecessary, and this time around, someone recommending we look into tongue tie surgery for our daughter's shallow latch. We could have gone down these roads, and honestly, these might be needed in some cases and there's nothing wrong with that. But a visit from Stephanie was all we needed to get on a roll with another beautiful breastfeeding journey for my wife and our daughter. Thank you so much Stephanie!

Fairy godmothers exist in the form of Stephanie Means - Lactation Guru. Stephanie was a godsend on our daughters second day of life when we were feeling exhausted and hopeless in the hospital. She came in and changed our entire attitude and gave us the confidence to not give up on breastfeeding. A few weeks later we experienced the dreaded cluster feeding/growth spurt and got back to the point of giving up. Her phone call lifted our spirits, answered our million questions and assured us we were on the right path.

Babies don't come with instructions, but Stephanie speaks their language and understands the tips and tricks that may seem so simple but make such a difference. We are forever grateful for Stephanie - her kindness, patience, knowledge and passion shine through and will give any lost breastfeeding mother and family a sense of confidence and a good recharge to keep going.

Where do I begin? After having my son, I struggled with breastfeeding like so many first time mamas do. My girlfriend in OKC suggested Stephanie for some help and Stephanie graciously took a virtual call with me to see where my issues were. I live out of state and she stayed so patient and uplifting the entire time we spoke during our virtual session. She explains that breastfeeding is LEARNED and not natural. It's an experience for both baby and mama to learn. If you're pre or post-natal, I HIGHLY suggest setting up a meeting with Stephanie to prepare you and baby for a successful BF journey. I'm so glad I did. PS -- she has other helpful tips for keeping baby awake during feedings and different holds depending on your unique anatomy. very thankful for her!

You will absolutely be in competent and compassionate hands with Stephanie Means to guide you in the beginning of your breastfeeding journey. When I had my second baby (12 years after my first!), I was determined to breastfeed for at least 6 months. I hit roadblock after roadblock from latch issues, tongue and lip tie, supply issues, thrush, you name it. I turned to my friend who I knew had years of mother/baby experience and a passion for breastfeeding education. Even long distance, she was able to assist me (in the early morning hours sometimes!) and lead us to breastfeeding success. She was calm and caring, she met me where I was. Stephanie was right there with me as we made it through the tough early newborn days, and she celebrated with me when we got to the other side. After only being able to nurse my first baby for about a month, I was able to nurse my second well past a year and I have Stephanie to thank for that. When I recently had my third baby it was comforting to know I had her support again in those early days with a new baby.

Any new mom and baby would be lucky and blessed to have Stephanie help them transition and gain the ever important and demanding skill of breastfeedings. She has not just the depth of experience, expertise, and first-rate skills, but the heart, warmth and compassion to be a stand for you. I would suggest reaching out to Stephanie before baby comes to have an appointment set up, that way you know you'll be in good hands from day one.
